Mr. Lucille Wijewardena

Holding a longstanding career of over 34 years in Finance and Management Mr. Lucille Wijewardena has held multiple top executive positions over the years. His professional background has a strong history in the plantations industry. He was appointed as Chairman (former) of the Sri Lanka Tea Board in 2019 and he has fulfilled leadership roles as Managing Director of Hayleys Plantations, Talawakelle Plantations Ltd and Pussellawa Plantations Ltd. and he has also served as Chairman of Mahaweli Marine Cement Company Ltd and Group Chief Accountant of Carson Cumberbatch & Co. Ltd. Mr. Wijewardena is a strong advocate on the promotion of Ceylon tea, globally, and was a pioneering influence on launching the country’s first government-backed international campaign for promoting Sri Lankan tea after 150 years.
Mr. Wijewardena is a Board member of Softlogic Capital PLC and holds similar positions in several other organizations. Currently, he is the Managing Director of Anuga Holdings (Pvt) Ltd. and Founder Director of Regency Teas (Pvt) Ltd., He also serves at the Press Complaint Commission of Sri Lanka as a member of the Dispute Resolution Committee.
Amongst his professional affiliations, Mr. Wijewardena is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the Post Graduate Institute of Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura and previously, he served on the Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka.
